USB cassette player

Digitizing Audio Memories

Digitizing Audio Memories

Picked up a cassette player that arrived today.  It has USB output and my plan is to digitize some old audio cassettes recordings of jam session at the Garage.  This session was recorded in late 1997 and I have not listened to this tape in 20 years as the cassette was physically broken.  I was able to take apart an empty cassette and translate the reels.
I was surprised by several things.  First, the fact I did something mechanical and didn't screw it up.  Second, the quality of +20 year old audio tape.  Third, how good a recording I made with a junky voice microphone hung from a ceiling fan between a drum set and guitar amp.  The session is mixed surprisingly well despite my crude setup, and sounds pretty good.
