The server status page gets has been converted to PHP and the new script can not test ports and there by identify which servers are running.

The  24 of June was the day we broke 100,000 hits, and by the end of June we received over 130,000.  Have a look at the graphs

   So what happened  during the month of June that resulted in such as massive growth?  There are a couple of things.  Probably the biggest is our parallel efforts with Zen and the GarageCrowd site-- a sister site of the Garage site.  Zen has made a terrific site and draws a lot of regular visitors.  Our conglomerate ring of sites includes the Garage Crowd, The Garage and Drink'n Drano that probably accounts for 50% of the traffic we receive.  Crystal's site, Drink'n Drano, has attracted a lot of traffic from the Garage Crowd site.  A close second would have to be the Kings Quest walkthrough site, taking hits from all over the world.
    What's coming up for the month of July?  Well, I hope to finish the long in the working image gallery script.  It is currently running the pictures page for DrQue.net, but it has a lot of work needed still.  We'll also continue to add to the pictures page for DrQue.net.  They are growing fast already since I started riding bike almost daily now.  Crystal will also continue adding to her site Drink'n Drano.  And we have to start on Phucker.com and MMSof.com.  Some options are being explored, including some PHP based systems, but more as we explore that.

    Around 6:00pm today, we lost power for a good 20 minutes, but DrQue.net continued to serve webpages.  The UPS had no problem delivering power though the downtime caused by the electrical storm outside.  Due to the temperature outside, the Black Dragon was taken off-line for the power outage since the air conditioner was unable to run.  The Dragon's Den really gets warm quickly in the summer without air conditioning.

    At noon today, we broke 100,000 hits for the month of June.  An average of 4,000 hits a day is more hits per day than in the month of July of last year.  We've grown some :)

    It doesn't look like I've been doing much, but actually I've been making good progress on the PHP/MySQL system I want to use for photo gallery's.  It's not quite ready yet, but close enough to run a pictures page for DrQue.net.  It's kind of A LOT OF WORK!

    The contact page system was revised to use PHP.  It makes it much easier to display errors and also gives you the option to post your message using SSL encryption.  I still had to use CGI to send the e-mail.  PHP has e-mail stuff built in, but I couldn't get it working.  It's okay though, the CGI system still works fine.

    This June 3rd makes Andrew Que quarter century.

    Over 98,000 hits in May... not bad.  Have a look.

    The setup of MySQL went smooth.  PHP took a bit to get it into Apache, but both are now running on the White Dragon.  Our by line now read: "Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) PHP/4.3.2 mod_ssl/2.8.14 OpenSSL/0.9.6a".

    Today we dug into PHP and MySQL again and produced some PHP file to take over the Garage profiles pages.  We had spent a day or two working with MySQL before this, learning the basics of SQL commands.  Now, we work on the PHP side and created a script that basically allows entries to be viewed, added, edited and removed from the database.  And wow, how easy.  Quite painless.  But then again, getting information in and out of a database should be no problem for MySQL!  Hey, we did it though.
    The test server runs on the Black Dragon, using MySQL 4.0.3, PHP 4.3.1 and BRS WebWeaver.  We proxyed it with the White Dragon at Test1.DrQue.net.  So far, everything looks good.
    Our next task will be installing these system on the White Dragon.  That means the MySQL, PHP and the Apache Mod.
