Hints of Fall

October 7th, and although the temperature has finally reached fall levels, the trees have not.  This picture, taken on Strong Avenue in Beloit shows just the first hints of the fall color change.
I took this picture on my way to lunch at my little Italian restaurant.  On the way back, I jetted into the Turtle Creek Floodplain on Luety Parkway.  There's a sleigh downward slope here, so I hit 20 miles an hour.  But right after I got onto the trail, my front tire stopped and I flew over the handle bars.  The bike proceeded to flip and land on me.  I sat for a few minutes looking at the sky, then put one of the water bottles back on the rack (the only thing that fell off), looked over my camera (which was under my arm and unharmed), got back on my bike and spent the remainder of the ride home wondering what the heck I hit.  Meh.  I'm going to feel this one tomorrow.
